FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
Our office is fee-for-service. While we will not submit any claims to insurance for you, we can provide you with a Superbill at the end of the evaluation that can then be submitted to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, credit cards, HSA (Health Savings Account) cards, and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards. We require a credit card on file and will charge this card on the day of your appointment unless alternate arrangements have been made.

How much does a neuropsychological evaluation cost?
Fees vary depending on how extensive the assessment is and the questions to be answered. An estimate of the total feels will be provided during the initial consultation. In general, our neuropsychological evaluation fees are structured in three separate billing installments, with each payment rendered on the day of service: one for the initial intake appointment, another for the testing appointment, and a final charge for the report write-up and follow-up consultation.
How long do I need to wait for an appointment? What is your waitlist like?
Because we do not accept insurance, we do not need to wait for approval for testing. We can begin the evaluation at our doctor's earliest appointment. This is typically within a month.

What does the neuropsychological evaluation process involve?
Our neuropsychological evaluations involve several key steps designed to provide a thorough assessment of cognitive functioning:

Initial Consultation(s)
-
For Adults: One appointment with you to review your personal history and current concerns. There are times, however, when having a significant other or parent/caregiver is helpful. The doctor will discuss this with you prior to your appointment.
-
For Children and Adolescents
-
One appointment with the parents only to discuss their concerns without the child present.
-
A second appointment with the child/adolescent on the day of testing to discuss their perception of their own difficulties.
-
Testing Appointment
-
The testing appointment typically lasts 6-8 hours and includes an assessment of functioning across cognitive domains. This includes intellectual functioning, academics, learning, memory, language, visual perception, motor skills, attention, executive functioning, social-emotional functioning, and behavior.
Follow-up Appointment
-
This consists of a one hour meeting where you will be provided with a copy of the report. We will discuss the findings, diagnosis (if appliable), and recommendations.
What are the benefits of a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

Clarifying Diagnoses - A neuropsychological evaluation helps identify and differentiate between cognitive, developmental, and psychiatric conditions, such as ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, and autism.
Customized Interventions and Support - By providing a detailed profile of cognitive strengths and weaknesses, the evaluation allows professionals (teachers, therapists, doctors) to create individualized support strategies that enhance daily functioning.

Enhancing Self-Awareness - In completing a neuropsychological evaluation, individuals gain a better understanding of themselves, their strengths, and their challenges. This can help leverage strengths to overcome obstacles.

Boosting Academic Success - For students, a neuropsychological evaluation can inform educational strategies and accommodations.
Providing Emotional Guidance - A neuropsychological evaluation provides valuable insights into an individual's emotional and behavioral patterns. By identifying specific emotional triggers, processing styles, and cognitive patterns, the assessment enables the development of targeted coping skills and strategies that help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and interpersonal interactions more effectively.
Education and Support - A neuropsychological assessment includes a follow-up session to discuss test results, answer questions, and review next steps.

How do I prepare for the evaluation?
Your best preparation for a neuropsychological evaluation is a good night's sleep and breakfast. If you use glasses or hearing aids, please bring them to your appointment. You should also take all prescription medication as prescribed on the day of testing.

How soon will I receive a written report following the evaluation?
All written reports are completed within 3 weeks of the testing date and will be provided at the feedback appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24-hour notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. If you cancel an intake or feedback session appointment, the credit card on file will be billed $250. If you cancel your testing appointment without providing 24-hour notice, your credit card will be charged $1,250. We understand that illness cannot be planned so $500 can be applied toward a rescheduled appointment. We also require a retainer of $375 to schedule an appointment for a patient who has late canceled or no-showed for two consecutive appointments.
